Ho vissuto a Milano negli ultimi 3 anni ed in questo periodo l’ho sempre osservata. Inizialmente guardavo tutto, poi poco, poi sempre meno fino a vederne solo pochi frammenti che però ritengo emblematici di una città che non ha il tempo di guardarsi o che si guarda ogni giorno senza mai vedersi del tutto. Le immagini non nascono da un intento documentaristico premeditato in senso stretto ma piuttosto da un insieme di suggestioni. Esse vogliono offrire una chiave di lettura differente e del tutto personale della città senza mai interferire con i soggetti e invitare lo spettatore a fermarsi, anche solo per un istante in più, per dare un significato a particolari che altrimenti passerebbero inosservati ma che fanno pur parte del corso delle cose.

I’ve lived in Milan for the last three years and in this period I’ve always observed it. At the first time I looked at everything, then a little, then less and less, up to see only a few fragments that I believe emblematic of a city that hasn’t time to look at itself or watch itself every day without ever seeing itself at all.

The images don’t originate from a premeditated documentary intention in the strict sense but from a set of suggestions. They want to offer a different and personal interpretation of the city without ever interfering with the subjects and inviting the viewer to stop, even only for a moment more, to give meaning to details that otherwise would go unnoticed but that make also part of the lifetime.
