Il Matrimonio, il giorno più importante nella vita di una coppia, ha da sempre risposto a canoni e tradizioni ben definiti in Italia. Al giorno d’oggi anche questo evento sembra sdoganarsi dai soliti luoghi comuni per rispondere ad alcune nuove tendenze del costume e della società contemporanea e a certe mode provenienti dagli USA. In questa serie, oltre alla scelta degli addobbi e degli abiti, ciò che colpisce è la presenza di figure come le “damigelle e il wedding planner”, assolutamente nuove alla tradizione del luogo, che si inseriscono perfettamente in questa atmosfera rosa ed appariscente. Il matrimonio si è svolto a Siculiana, un piccolo paese della Sicilia in provincia di Agrigento che curiosamente mostra all’ingresso un’insegna con su scritto “Città degli Sposi”...sarà un caso?
Questa serie rappresenta il Primo Capitolo di un progetto in corso che vuole documentare il manifestarsi di queste nuove tendenze di costume in Sicilia.
The Wedding, the most important day in the life of a couple, has always responded to well defined canons and traditions in Italy. Nowadays, even this event seems to break free from usual clichés adapting to some new trends of the Costume and contemporary society and to certain fads from the USA.
This Wedding took place at Siculiana, a small village in Sicily which at the entrance shows a curious billboard that says "City of Bride and Groom"...just a coincidence?
“While I was taking pictures I was struck by decorations and clothes, but above all by the presence of figures such as Bridesmaids and Wedding planner absolutely new to the tradition of the place, which were perfectly fitted in the pink and showy atmosphere.”
This series is the First Chapter of an ongoing project that wants to witness these new trends in Sicily.
